Silver & Copper halfbreed nugget (Urish Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural, very rich silver and copper flattened halfbreed nugget from the famous Copper Country. Halfbreeds form rarely when molten silver and copper get bound together, without alloying or intermixing. Nuggets like this, so far as I know, only came from old Michigan mines. The sculptural, bright silver is a fine foil to the copper with a nice patina. This is a classic, old-time and rare halfbreed in this richness of silver. Ex Harold Urish Collection and acquired in 1987.
