Item Description
A beautiful and highly aesthetic old classic display specimen of the famous Silvers from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) in Saxony. This piece features a wonderful, classic, sharp, slender, attractive, dendritic "herringbone"-style twinned crystals which are tightly intergrown into a 3.0 cm group which is aesthetically flaring off matrix. There is a beautiful antique patina on the Silver crystals, but there are also small spots of metallic reflection as well, which makes for a great contrast when viewed up close. The Silver group is complete all around and the piece would make a stellar addition to any native elements suite, a miniature collection or a collection of German classics. This specimen is several decades old, and comes from the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (1946-2007), the well-known mineral dealer and collector from Colorado, who was the namesake for the rare zirconium phosphate mineral, Kosnarite. Priced in our inventory at $3,500.
