Item Description

One of the most important and historic localities for Native Silver in the world is Kongsberg, Norway. Mining at this classic locality dates back nearly 400 years, and produced some of the most impressive and recognizable specimens of wire Silver and crystallized ever found. This particular specimen is an attractive miniature sized piece featuring a lovely crystallized group of Silver sitting on matrix. Upon close inspection you can see there are actual CRYSTALS on the piece, not just a mass of Silver, which is rare for the locality, as most Kongsberg specimens are in wire form. It's certainly an attractive piece and would make a great addition to a suite of native elements, or a collection of European classics. You don't see many matrix Silvers from Kongsberg on the market these days, especially on matrix. Valued at $1,000. The piece comes from the collection of Brian Kosnar.
