Item Description
Lovely 'Figure 8' of wire Silver from the greatest of all Silver localities, Kongsberg! The surface has been altered to Argentite, and that probably to Acanthite, creating a sparkly surface that is even more scintillating in person. This is a highly unusual specimen, overall, and as elegant as these can get for a miniature, in my opinion. Kay Robertson collection, stored in an antique glass bottel that apparently came with the piece from a museum collection. While you cannot say a date for sure, this is typical of styles of silver mined here prior to the mid 1800's. Valued $2500
