A very sculptural plate of silver amalgam from an UNCOMMON for the species German locale - the Glasberg Quarry, Nieder-Beerbach, Odenwald, Hesse. Silver amalgam is the mercurian variety of silver and is relatively uncommon, worldwide. This two-sided, showy piece has distinctly different luster, one side bright, silver metallic and the other is matte gray. The former dealer label with the piece has aptly named this dramatic shape, "ET", the Extra-Terrestrial from the famed 1982 science fiction movie directed by Steven Spielberg. VERY appropriate. Valued at $900.
