Item Description
We have seen very few pieces of native Tsumeb silver specimens that were available over the years and Mindat has only two dozen photos of the species - none of them are quite as good as this one from the Pohl collection! Tsumeb has always been a bit disappointing for native element specimen recovery, especially for silver, of which so few fine specimens are known and of those, most are simply not display-worthy. This small cabinet piece is quite good and has an area that measures 3 x 1.5 cm that is nearly covered in glistening, bright silvery-white Native Silver and is even accented by a 3 mm, gem, super lustrous Cerussite crystal! The Silver is lining a small vug in a submetallic gray matrix highlighted in areas with red-brown patches for great contrast. This is an excellent Native Silver piece from Tsumeb from the Dr. Erika Pohl-Strahler collection.
