Large, robust, sharply twinned Cerussite crystals are perched perfectly on a piece of matrix from this celebrated locality. This impressive piece consists of a smoky, transparent to translucent, Cerussite V-twin composed of two impressive crystals with the largest measuring 6 cm tall, 4.9 cm wide and 2.5 cm thick! The other twin component is also dramatic and almost as large but not as thick. The prism faces on the two are lustrous and lightly striated while the the chisel-shaped terminal faces have a satin luster. The gossan matrix is a little understated as it hosts, on closer inspection, numerous mostly to partially complete butterscotch-colored Wulfenite crystals, several small Cerussite crystals and clusters of rusty pink, 3 to 4 mm Smithsonite crystals as a surprise! These give the matrix an unusual sparkle, as a bonus. This piece is really a complex combination specimen representing a great Tsumeb paragenetic sequence "topped" by a monumental Cerussite twin! This admirable piece is really dramatic, standing up in a showcase. Valued $4000-5000 easily, although it is more impressive in person.
