This is a majestic and important specimen of gold, on natural and beautiful, contrasting quartz matrix, from one of the most significant gold specimen discoveries of this last decade. These were found mostly around 2018-2021 and mostly single isolated crystals came out. However, this specimen features a complete, doubly-terminated, 6-cm-tall gold crystal, shockingly well-presented on quartz! It is a miracle trim, carefully excavated and painstakingly exposed from the surrounding matrix by Tomasz Praszkier (well known specialist dealer and educator in Moroccan material) after one of his direct trips to Morocco during the Covid years. He personally worked this out, and so we know it is legit and natural. It presents a single large gold crystal as if it is floating for display. 6 cm, over two inches, is a shocking size for such a complete gold of this style. Many people call these wires, but that is a mistake - these are elongated crystals of gold, sharp enough to draw blood at their tips by the way (we can say this from experience). The crystals look unusual because they are robustly spinel twinned, about the central vertical axis. It makes for a rare appearance and style, especially in this size. This important matrix gold specimen, a lucky find from a small deposit that produced many specimens but few matrix pieces of any size or significance, should be valued highly, $25-35,000 in our opinion.
