Item Description

Incredibly rich, RARE and sculptural large two-sided combination from this well-known skarn-type iron-copper mine in Hubei Province. One side of the lightweight gossan matrix is with festooned with lustrous golden-brown to dark brown Hubeite blades with subsidiary pink Inesite blades and white Apophyllite. This is from the original finds, 20 years ago around 1999-2000! The other side is richly and dramatically covered with sprays of glassy pink Inesite blades with lesser amounts of Hubeite and Apophyllite, a typical association. Hubeite is a VERY RARE hydrated Ca-Mn-Fe-silicate named in 2001 for Hubei Province. Hubeite is found at only two worldwide localities (MINDAT). Inesite is an uncommon complex hydrated Ca-Mn-Fe silicate. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2002. An outstanding, classic and very rich large two-sided combination of the rare species.
