Killer, highly sculptural and very uncommon 3-generation Dolomite crystals from one of the two famous quarries at Eugui. An impressive 1st-generation, rich mound of densely intergrown, oxide-tinted, flesh-colored to colorless rhombohedrons covers half of the specimen. The adjacent "porch" is covered with 2nd-generation glassy, lustrous, translucent, dolomite rhombs to 1.2 cm on edge. A dramatic upright cluster of classic, large, water-clear to translucent, cololess, interpenetrating rhombs fantastically highlights the piece. The striking, large striated, doubly terminated rhomb is 6.0 cm on the diagonal. A smaller, 2.3 cm rhomb in the front is a super accessory. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard was a sophisticated young upcoming East Coast mineral collector and dealer, who died at the early age of 28 in 1987. His label has an incorrect locality, uncommon for Howard, who was very meticulous on his attributions - but these were days before MINDAT. Valued highly! This is a superb cabinet specimen!
