Item Description
Siegenite is an uncommon cobalt nickel sulfide. This is a rare, rich and very showy specmen of bright, brassy siegenite microcrystal pseudomorphs after galena octahedrons. The pseudos are only on one side of the piece. A later generation of lustrous, battleship-gray, galena cuboctahedrons richly covers all sides of this attractive, two-sided, mounded piece. The pseudos and galenas rest on a sulfide matrix covered with lustrous, gray dolomite rhombs. A couple broken pseudos on one end reveal how the siegenite has replaced the galena octahedrons. An excellent and rare combination pseudomorph from the famous Sweetwater Mine.
