Item Description

A good display specimen of the famous gemmy green Siderites from the famous Morro Velho Gold mine in Brazil. Despite the fact that this was a Gold mine, it produced some unique Siderite association specimens during the early 1970s. The highly compressed, distinctive rhombohedra of Siderite show beautiful, sharp lustrous faces with good internal gemminess. The color is certainly characteristic for the locality. The crystals are good quality for the locality, and are associated with colorless to white Dolomitc, plus with minor metallic rusty crystals of Pyrrhotite and and golden Marcasite. A great association specimen of this well known material from Brazil.
