Item Description
Siderite specimens are very rare from this old gneiss quarry in Baltimore. A lustrous, dark gray coating covers the curved, helmet-shaped, translucent, amber siderite crystals that very richly line the sculptural vug. Old-time, very rare and rich material from the Columbia University-American Museum and Eugene Carmichael Collections. This is possibly a unique specimen for this locale.
