Item Description

A classic and excellent CABINET combination plate from the famous Morro Velho Mine. Water-clear quartz points to 4.5 cm stand proudy above the matrix of striking, rounded, flattened, lustrous and translucent, siderite rhombs. The siderites are dramatically and preferentially peppered with lustrous, pseudohexagonal, brassy, platy pyrrhotite crystals. The iridescent pyrrhotites reach 8 mm. Some of the more slender crystals, curving and smaller, are rare cubanites. This very fine large combination specimen probably dates to the 1970s. Essentially pristine, with only infinitesimal termination edgewear to the large quartz point. Very seldom on the market in this quality. Ex. Schlichter Collection. Valued at $500-650.
