Siderite on Quartz with Electrum

Choice, 11-cm cabinet specimen that features Siderite crystals, up to an impressive 4.2 cm, rising majestically up from a forest of gemmy-to-translucent Quartz crystals. The Siderite has great luster, and the dissolution features near the core of the large crystal are visually interesting; and speak to an interesting and dynamic history within this deposit. Iouriren, in the western Anti-Atlas Mts., is/was a gold mine that seldom produced mineral specimens of quality for collectors. Very clean and displaying perfectly, this is a rare piece for the locality and a superb siderite from anywhere. As a bonus of note are small silvery patches on the bottom, identified as electrum in the label accompanying.
