Siderite on Quartz (rare old classic)

Item Description

Siderite specimens are well-known from this historic old Cornwall copper mine, one of the deepest, richest and most important Cornish copper mines (MINDAT). Four, sharp, elongated, doubly terminated, multi-hued brown siderite rhombs, to 1.2 cm, are aesthetically clustered with numerous smaller rhombs on the quartz crystal matrix plate. Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. A classic and excellent siderite combination from Fowey Consols and valued at $400 by the knowledgeable former dealer.
