Siderite on Pyrite

Description:Siderites from Alice are old-timers, and and these tabular rhombs have a secondary coating of iron oxides that give them a rich, chocolate-brown iridescence. The rhombs average about 7 mm on edge, and they rest on a matrix of bright and lustrous Pyrite. The Pyrite ranges from crystalline to massive. There is just a small amount of edgewear on some of the Siderites, but it is in good condition overall. This is a good, representative piece for the location.
