Item Description

Mineral specimens, in general, are rare from this mine, the most important and richest mine in the famous Siegerland district (MINDAT). Translucent, sharp, gray to brown, siderite rhombs to 1.8 cm are richly and aesthetically scattered on the banded matrix plate covered with a starkly contrasting thin layer of rich brick-red, hematite-included drusy quartz. Rare and excellent old-time combination material from this Fe-Cu-Co mine, that operated from the 18th century until 1960. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Paul Jung Collection, according to Bob's label.
