Item Description
Mineral specimens of ANY type are RARE from this ancient and extinct mining district, that was active from 1495-1893. The front and part of the back of this rich and showy specimen is covered with sharp, lustrous, olive-green siderite rhombs, to 1.5 cm on the diagonal. Comes with an old faded 100-year plus label from a dealer in Prague. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6956 and acquired from the Cisneros' in May, 1973. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). RARE old siderite.
