Siderite (ex Van Tichelen Collection)

What a fine Siderite from the famous Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire. Siderite is not uncommon from MSH, but to find crystals this size is certainly rare in my experience. It's not common to find Siderite crystals in this size from any locality. The largest crystal measures 4.9 cm on edge, and larger if you measure across the crystal. If you collect carbonates, think of how rare it is to find a fine crystallized example of Siderite on the market lke hits. Ex Wouter Van Tichelen Collection. Do not miss out on this one, I'm told that collecting at the quarry is now forbidden by new ownership, so specimens will be nearly impossible to obtain unless they come from old collections.
