Item Description

This species is an incredibly rare potassium sodium magnesium phyllosilicate that is only found in two places in the world. The best known examples are those from the type locality at the Kirovskii apatite mine in the Kola Peninsula of Russia. This mine is actually the type locality for 20 species! This piece features small tan-brown patches of Shirokshinite with acicular white crystals of Natrolite on matrix. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection. VERY HARD to find on the market, and certainly worth picking up for ANY rare species collector.
