Item Description
Gemmy, pink Rhodochrosite crystals associated with a superb Shigaite crystal and brown Caryopilite. The pink Rhodochrosite is quite lustrous, and the equant crystals are gathered in clusters that are up to about 7 mm across. Nestled among the Rhodos and on the Caryopilite is an exceptional hexagonal Shigaite that is over 3 mm across and almost as thick. It is gemmy, deep red, and has very good luster. On some of the associated Shigaites you can see the classic, almost metallic, brownish gold luster. The micro Caryopilite coating is extensive and rich. On first glance, you don't realize what a fine combination specimen this piece really is. Not aesthetic, but exceptional in its own way.
