Item Description
Large, classic, top-notch combination of shattuckite, primary malachite, and smoky quartz from the Kaokaveld. Two, sculptural and exceptional vugs are the highlight of this fine piece. Both vugs are lined with banded shattuckite and the interior botryoids are coated by sparkly, water-clear quartz. The large, 7.8 cm, wide vug hosts two, large very blocky sprays of malachite. The malachite nearly fills the 5.7 cm wide vug on an adjacent side, and you can see that the vugs are connected. The medium-blue to powder-blue shattuckite is found on all sides of the specimen. The lustrous and deep green malachite is primary malachite, rare large crystals which formed on their own, instead of as a peudomorph, or secondary, after azurite. This particular combination is highly sought after for its beauty and rarity. Acquiring a combination of this quality would be a great prize. Extremely aesthetic. This fine piece is from the obscure Mesopotamia 504 MIne. Valued at 1250-1500. Ex Charlie Key dealer stock.
