Shattuckite with Malachite and Quartz

Appealing, and unusual, combination piece of Shattuckite, Malachite, and Quartz. The Shattuckite, rich powder blue in color, occurs in excellent radial balls, on Quartz, and partially encased by a later generation of Malachite. The largest of the Shattuckite spheres is 2 cm across. In cross section, you can see the deep blue seed crystal, with the concentric layers radiating beautifully. A fine, and uncommon, combination piece.
