Shattuckite w/ Ajoite (Type Locality - classic Arizona)

Item Description

A classic, colorful and rich combination ore specimen of the copper silicates shattuckite and ajoite from the famous New Cornelia Mine at Ajo. The hefty blocky matrix hosts a rich vein of broken botryoids of uncommon rich blue shattuckite on all sides. The vuggy end of the piece hosts unbroken shattuckite botryoids and clusters of green needles and mats of RARE ajoite (Type Locality). Probably older material, as this large open pit mine closed in 1972. Excellent combination material.
