Shattuckite (good quality)

This is a very attractive specimen of this rare copper silicate featuring a beautiful sky blue, radiating, somewhat spherical velvety Shattuckite, free of matrix. This specimen was found in 2014, and represents some of the finest Shattuckite ever found from any world locality. Please note this is NOT from Namibia, it's actually well-known material that was originally reported from the Tantara Mine by Belgian mineralogists many decades ago. These specimens were analyzed and confirmed at the University of Arizona as Shattuckite - although they most likely contain a small amount of Plancheite and possibly Ajoite. If you're a collector of secondary copper species, don't miss out on this eye-catching, displayable specimen. Rarely does one encounter larger sized pieces of this hard to find species, especially with such attractive form and color.
