A beautiful example of these soon-to-be classic Shattuckites from the major discovery in 2014 at the Tantara Mine. There has not been a discovery of Shattuckite in the modern era of mineral collecting that matched this find both in terms of specimen quality and size. This is a very attractive specimen of this rare copper silicate featuring a beautiful sky blue, radiating, somewhat spherical velvety Shattuckite, free of matrix. Please note this is NOT from Namibia, it's actually well-known material that was originally reported from the Tantara Mine by Belgian mineralogists many decades ago. These specimens were analyzed and confirmed at the University of Arizona as Shattuckite - although they most likely contain a small amount of Plancheite and possibly Ajoite. If you're a collector of secondary copper species, don't miss out on this eye-catching, displayable specimen. Rarely does one encounter larger sized pieces of this hard to find species, especially with such attractive form and color. Priced at $950 in the inventory.
