Item Description

This is an attractive and good quality specimen of the uncommon copper silicate species, Shattuckite from a well-known discovery at the Tantara Mine in 2014. The piece is a wonderful group of beautiful soft blue, radiating "balls" of Shattuckite, free of matrix. It's important to know that this piece is NOT from Namibia, these are actually from a much older and well-known locality dating back many decades and documented by Belgian scientists. This piece along with others from the discovery was analyzed / confirmed at the University of Arizona - although it most likely does contain a small amount of Plancheite and possibly Ajoite. If you're a collector of this kind of material, don't miss out on this eye-catching, displayable small cabinet display specimen. Rarely does one encounter larger display specimens of this hard to find species, especially with such attractive form. Priced at $800 in the inventory.
