Item Description
Intergrown nubby botryoids of pretty cornflower-blue shattuckite form a very sculptural small cabinet from the limited 2014 find at this less well-known extinct open pit copper mine, worked occasionally for specimens. The striking pinwheel is 1.9 cm across. Beautiful shimmering chatoyancy highlights the fantastic two-color rich cornflower-blue radial growth of the acicular crystals on the broken botryoids on the periphery of this striking specimen. The bottom shows, that this is a solid crust of shattuckite, a rare Cu-silicate. The aesthetic form of this piece is remarkable and is certainly one of the finer examples in the small lot we recently received. Valued at $750 by the former dealer and worth it.
