Item Description
A striking, sculptural specimen of solid shattuckite from a 2014 find by artisanal miners at this abandoned open pit copper mine. Rich cornflower-blue sprays of radial acicular crystal clusters that look like pin-cushions or snowballs. The large "ball" looks like a classic Hostess SnoBall cake with blue color. Beautiful shimmering chatoyancy highlights the fantastic two-color rich cornflower-blue radial growth of the acicular crystals on the sides and back of the botryoids on this striking specimen. Valued at $500 by the former dealer and worth it.
