Item Description

Beautiful shimmering chatoyancy highlights the fantastic two-color rich cornflower-blue radial growth of the acicular crystals on the broken botryoids on this striking specimen. The nubby terminated surfaces are dramtaically flanked by the botryoids. The fabuous pinwheel is 2.3 cm across. The bottom shows, that this is a solid crust of shattuckite, a rare Cu-silicate. This is an outstanding shattuckite from the limited 2014 find at this less well-known extinct open pit copper mine, worked occasionally for specimens. The artistic form of this piece is remarkable and is certainly one of the finest examples in the small lot we recently received. Valued at $500 by the former dealer and worth it.
