Item Description
Outstanding shattuckite from the limited 2014 find at this less well-known extinct open pit copper mine, worked occasionally for specimens. Striking, rich cornflower-blue botryoids with nubby terminated surfaces are dramatically flanked by broken botryoids. The broken surfaces reveal the fantastic two-color radial growth of the acicular crystals, which have beautiful shimmering chatoyancy. The concave bottom shows, that is a solid crust of shattuckite, a rare Cu-silicate. The artistic form of this piece is remarkable and is certainly one of the finest examples in the small lot we recently received. Valued at $1000 by the former dealer and worth it.
