Item Description
Colorful and sculptural solid undulating crust of beautiful blue radial aggregates of shattuckite prisms from the well-known Tantara Mine of DR Congo. The largest sphere is 3.1 cm across and the hole in the piece adds interest. Periphery wear along one edge dramatically highlights the radial growth of the variably-hued, elongated, acicular crystals. The noted contacting/bruising has minimal impact to the overall showiness, richness and high quality of the piece. Shattuckite specimens, a rare secondary copper silicate, from here are considered to be among the world's finest. Valued by the former dealer at $1250.
