Item Description

Troostite is the Mn-bearing variety of willemite and the famous Sterling Mine is the classic locality for this species. This is a very sharp, large, complete all-around hexagonal crystal with typical reddish-brown color and moderate luster. Embedded calcite and franklinite are typical accessories and add color and pizzazz. In great shape with only one out-of-sight bruised upper corner and one very gently bruised corner in the display views. Choice and classic material from Dick Hauck Collection (an owner of the mine) and collected on March 6, 1990, according to another label. Neon-green fluorescence!
