A fantastic sharp 1.1 cm cuprite octahedron is dramatically and aesthetically set in a striking elongated cleft in complimentary large banded matrix on this remarkable larger matrix specimen from the famous Mashamba West Mine. The splendent luster, metallic dark wine-red crystal GLOWS with cherry-red translucence, when back lit! The smaller cuprite octahedron and the green copper oxide coating in the cleft are super accents to this very sculptural and excellent specimen. Choice and uncommon large matrix material from an East Coast collection from the major discoveries in the 1980s to early 90s, with none since. These are some of the finest cuprites around.
