Item Description
A striking, 1.9 x 1.7 x 0.8 cm, highly modified flattened carrollite cuboctahedron is jauntily set atop matrix of mostly calcite. The splendent silver-metallic crystal has the superb luster, that is characteristic of this rare Cu-Co-Ni sulfosalt. The banding on the termination face adds much pizzazz. The sculptural, mostly calcite matrix includes another mineral, a smaller carrollite and nicely contrasting golden chalcopyrite. Matrix carrollites are far less common, and the quality of this one is excellent. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of edge wear. Here is your chance to obtain a fine and unusual small cabinet matrix carrollite at a very reasonable price point. It has two fine display views.
