Item Description
A RARE, sharp and sharply terminated, dipyramidal, orthorhombic, mottled gray to pink andalusite crystal thumbnail with greasy lustre from this obscure extinct California Au-kyanite-mica mine, that operated from 1926-46 (MINDAT). The Kyanite was used for refractory cement products. This is an outstanding and very rare sharp and pristine crystal from the locale.
