Item Description
A rare, old-time, large, classic combination pseudomorph specimen from the long-closed Tilly Foster Mine of New York. Serpentine has pseudomorphed a cluster of sharp chondrodite crystals to 1.5 cm. Surrounding the pseudos are pistachio-green antigorite (serpentine group species) and scattered lustrous, hexagonal, green, clinochlore books to 7 mm. This is an excellent and rare combination pseudomorph from this famous iron mine (magnetite ore), that closed in 1897! This is one of THE most classic and desirable of old East Coast locales. Valued $750-900 for rarity and quality.
