Here we have a beautiful hand carved piece of Serpentine from an undisclosed locality in Peru. The locals have found this attractive Serpentine rock very useful for carving, and we've been seeing some lovely pieces coming out for several years now. This owl carving has excellent detail and form, and weighs in at 131.50 grams, so it's very good sized. A wonderfully colorful carving that would look great in a display case. If you're looking for a unique gift idea, I've found that children are really turned on by carvings as well, especially with animals that they immediately recognize.
