Item Description
The Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire has produced the finest crystals of Serandite ever found. This particular specimen is a thick, stout prismatic group with an rich glowing pinkish-orange salmon color, sharp, well-formed face and good luster. The piece is actually doubly-terminated, though both ends have re-crystallized, as the crystal obviously grew to fill both sides of the pocket. There is an interesting, somewhat "fenster"-like growth where the exterior and interior of the crystal can be seen. One termination shows striated, semi-skeletal growth lines, while the other termination has a smoother traditional termination. Small crystals of chalky white Analcime along with prismatic Natrolites make for a nice touch. It's a very difficult specimen to accurately photograph and truly looks better in person. If you collect MSH material, this in an interesting esoteric specimen that would make a nice addition to your collection.
