Item Description

A striking 2.0 cm semseyite rosette is the highlight of this excellent, rich and aesthetic combination specimen from this historic locale. Sharp crystallization and bright metallic-gray luster of the bladed semseyite clusters (with purple iridescence) and the high luster of the striated sphalerite crystals compliment the nubby, sooty-gray, boulangerite botryoids on the scuptural, 3-dimensional specimen. Semseyite is an uncommon lead, antimony sulfosalt, seldom found in well-formed crystal groups such as this and in fine association. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but certainly has minimal impact on this striking piece. Classic older material from this district, now hard to find. Valued at $750 for quality and combination.
