Item Description

Semseyite is an uncommon lead, antimony sulfosalt, seldom found in well-formed crystal groups such as this. This is a superb, complete all-around (save for the contacted bottom) cluster in excellent condition. The bladed clusters of Semseyite are radial in nature, and in cross-section they look very much like flowers. They have a metallic luster and silver-gray color, much like the Galena below, but not quite as bright. There are also numerous mm-size spheres of Sphalerite tucked in and around the specimen. Minor Quartz, as well. Overall, this is an excellent combination piece, mined at this famous location in 2001. From near the Type Locality. Originally priced at $850 back in the 1990s. This is a large and hefty, solid specimen with real display value.
