Item Description

A famous "fake" in the mineral market now, this is a gorgeous specimen of a surprise find from just before Tucson of around 2016 if I recall rightly, these "Kobyashevite" crystals were somehow chemically created down at the mine, by a technique I am still unfamiliar with but nevertheless am convinced that they are indeed, synthetic. We are not really sure what they are now...This piece, from the Gary Weaver collection, is a cautionary tale in Mexican fakes - and still a pretty, if synthetic, part of an Ojuela suite.
