Item Description

Seeligerite is a very rare lead iodate, which has only been in a handful of localities in Chile (all but one locality are in Antofagasta Province). Small bright yellow micaceous crystalline Seeligerite sit atop the underlying matrix, with associated blue Boleite (and possibly Diaboleite) and Galena. I have only seen one other piece of this material, and if you're a rare species collector, or a systematic collector, or if you collect rare lead species, don't miss out on this one. The piece comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
