Item Description
Tiny crystals, well-protected in a capsule, off of the original HOLOTYPE specimen for Seamanite from the TYPE SPECIMEN found nearly 200 years ago and now in the Smithsonian Institution. Previously in the collections of the Smithsonian (trimmed from #96282) and given as a gift for the species collection of the American Museum in New York City, this centuries-old specimen represents the rarest of the rare for Michigan minerals. From the large worldwide collection of historical minerals, of George Elling of New Jersey, a fascinating and important historical micro specimen. Value is hard to say for something like this which is so priceless historically. Better under a scope, obviously, as we are not set up for micro photography
