Item Description
Scorzalite is a rare iron aluminum phosphate species (the iron analogue of Lazulite). There are only two verified localities for the species in California according to mindat.org. This piece is from the Champion Mine, best known for its attractive Augelite and Rutile crystals. It's quite possibly the first piece of this material that we've ever had to offer in the auctions. This small cabinet piece features masses of Lapis-blue colored Scorzalite in white milky Quartz matrix. A cool reference piece that would make a nice addition to any phosphate suite or a collection of California minerals.
