Scorodite with Karibibite

A rich specimen for the species, of this rare and highly sought after blue mineral! Both sides of this limonite matrix have an abundance of superbly lustrous Scorodite crystals, which are a rare, hydrated iron arsenate. Ranging up to 7-8 mm in size, many of the gemmy Scorodites have the classic grey-blue color. While some have more of a rust tone, together the two colors complement each other nicely. To my eye, few minerals can compare to Scorodite for its glassy luster, and with the crystals so flashy and gemmy you don't realize how large some of the crystals really are. The small amount of associated, golden Karibibite adds even more mineral and visual interest. Only a few worldwide localities are noted for fine Scorodite, and for the well-known Bou Azzer this choice miniature would be considered rare. This specimen is probably from 1980s finds.
