Item Description

Scorodite is the rarest of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with manganoan adamite and legrandite. The very best scorodites came from Mexico years ago, so to come across a specimen now, that contains this many small gemmy crystals with such good color and luster on both sides of the sturdy, very sculptural matrix, is a REAL find. The crystals reach about 5 mm and are gemmy blue-green under bright light. I have seen just a very few for sale in 2 decades of looking at Mexican minerals. This would be an important addition to many collections simply for the species-locality representation, but it is very attractive, too. Ex Bob Trimingham Colllection, dating to circa 1958-60, and formerly in the Kay Robertson and Scott Williams Collection, according to his label. Valued at $1500 and worth it. Try to find another with this richness.
