Item Description
Sharp, highly lustrous, orthorhombic scorodite crystals, to 1.6 cm, are richly and aesthetically clustered along the skyline of the sculptural large pyrite-rich limonite gossan matrix. There are many more crystals and crystal sections on the back and on one end, as a bonus. The crystals appear to be black in normal light, but bright light reveals the true color of the crystals (some blue and yellow tints). Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A rich and excellent large specimen from the 2008 find, with none since. Valued $1200-1500 for size, richness, and it's just a really big scorodite ....!
