Item Description
Scorodite is one of the three Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with legrandite and purple (manganoan) adamite. And scorodite is probably the rarest and most difficult to find in nice specimens of the three species. A curved vug in the 3-dimensional, sturdy gossan matrix is lined with highly lustrous and gemmy, purple and green scorodite crystals to 4 mm on this excellent thumbnail. Three smaller vugs also host scorodite crystals, including the 1.4 cm vug photographed. These scorodite specimens came from a one-time find in 1981, during the same time and in the same area as the famous purple adamites were found. Ex Consie Prince Collection and valued at $750-950. this is VERY rare material!
